Homemade Apple Crisp


It is just about time for fresh apples or you can use pears for this simple Apple Crisp recipe. You can serve with a dollop of fresh whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.


Ingredients needed:
4 cups apples, peeled and sliced
3/4 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup margarine
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 cup water


Directions:
Put apples in a greased 9-inch X 9-inch baking dish.
Sprinkle
the apples evenly with water and cinnamon.In a small bowl, combine with a fork or pastry blender, sugar, margarine and flour; sprinkle over apples.
Bake in a 350 degree oven for 40 minutes.

Creamy Mexican Flan


Whenever my mom and I go to a restaurant that serves flan, we always have to save room to share a piece for dessert. With this Creamy Mexican Flan recipe we can make it home anytime we get a craving.

Ingredients needed:
4 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
14 ounce sweetened condensed milk, not evaporated milk
1 3/4 cups water
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Place caramelized sugar in a heavy skillet, cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar is melted and has a caramel color.
Pour sugar into ungreased 1 1/2 -quart 9-inch round baking pan, coat bottom completely.
In medium bowl, beat eggs; stir in water, vanilla, sweetened condensed milk and salt.
Pour over caramelized sugar; set pan in larger pan . Fill larger pan with 1-inch hot water.
Bake flan at 350 degree for 55 to 60 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean. Cool. Chill.
Loosen side of flan with knife; invert onto serving plate with rim.
Refrigerate leftovers.
