Homemade Flour Tortillas

Homemade Flour Tortillas can be used in many different recipes. Fresh homemade tortillas are much better than store bought. Sometimes mine are not round but that does not affect the taste. Make up a batch tonight for supper, serve as tacos, fajitas or whatever you like.

Ingredients needed:
4 cups flour
1/3 cup shortening
2 teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
1 ½ hot water
Directions:
Mix flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.
Work the shortening in dry ingredients with your hand.
Pour hot water in a little at a time, working in with hands to make a soft dough.
Knead the dough until smooth.
Divide dough into 12 to 14 small balls.
Roll out each ball on floured board.
Cook in hot skillet coated with a little shortening so tortilla doesn't stick or burn.
