This recipe is a different twist on pizza. It is easy to assemble and the family with love it. Add a tossed salad and you will have a easy week-night meal.
1 pound bulk Italian sausage
1 medium onion, chopped
½ cup green pepper, chopped
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, divided
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning or oregano
1-15 ounce can tomato sauce
2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 cup milk
½ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, grated
Directions for making:
Preheat oven to 425 degree.
In a saucepan, cook the sausage, onion and green pepper over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain.
Stir in 2 tablespoon flour and Italian seasonings; mix well.
Add tomato sauce.
Bring mixture to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes.
Place mixture in an ungreased 9x13x2-inch baking dish
Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
Place remaining flour in a mixing bowl.
Beat in the eggs, oil, milk and salt until smooth.
Stir in Parmesan cheese.
Pour over casserole.
Bake uncovered, at 425 degree for 25 to 30 minutes or until browned.
