Cottage Fried Potatoes are also called Home Fries. They are pan-fried with rings of onion, you can peel or leave the peeling on. Cottage Fried Potatoes are a great side to any meal, they are one of our favorites. Enjoy!
This is what you need:
3 tablespoons butter, margarine or oil
3 medium size potatoes, thinly sliced
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 small onion, thinly sliced in rings, separated
Now let's get to cooking these yummy Cottage Fried Potatoes:
Melt the butter in a large skillet, you may need to add more while cooking.
Place potatoes in a layer in skillet sprinkle with garlic powder, salt and black pepper.
Cover and cook on medium heat for about 8 minutes; add onion rings.
Cook 8 to 10 minutes more uncovered, until tender and browned.
Turn potatoes often while cooking.
Makes 4 servings.
