Creamy Coleslaw Recipe

Creamy Coleslaw Recipe

This recipe for coleslaw is so easy to make and just the way I like coleslaw. Hope you find it to your taste. You will think you do not have enough dressing, but after it refrigerates for a while the cabbage will sink down in the yummy dressing. I stir my two or three times. It will keep for several days. Enjoy!

Ingredients you need:

1 cup mayonnaise (not salad dressing)
¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons white vinegar or cider vinegar
¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons milk
1 garlic clove, minced or ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons onion, minced
2-16 ounce bags fresh ready to serve coleslaw mix (find with bagged lettuce)
Salt to taste.
½ teaspoon celery salt (I do not use this in mine)

In a lidded jar, shake together the mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, milk, garlic, and celery salt until well blended.
Place in a large container with lid, two bags cole slaw mix and onion.
Pour the dressing over the vegetables and toss them together.
Chill the coleslaw at least one hour, I stir two or three times.
Taste, add salt as desired.
Cole Slaw keeps well for several days.

Note: Instead of packaged coleslaw mix, you can use one medium head cabbage, shredded and two to three carrots, shredded.
