I was raised on venison or some of us country folks call it deer meat. I have fried many of batch of this easy recipe. Soaking the meat before cooking takes the gamey or wild taste from the meat. Enjoy Best Chicken Fried Venison!
1 tablespoon salt
¼ cup vinegar
1 cup flour
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup milk
Oil ( I like Crisco or Canola)
In a large bowl soak venison for about one hour or longer in the mixture of water, one tablespoon salt and ¼ cup vinegar. The longer you soak the meat the better.
Tenderize steaks real good.
Have two shallow dishes one for flour, salt, and black pepper mix. One for eggs and milk mix.
First dip steaks into flour mixture, then dip in egg and milk mixture and back again into flour mixture.
Fry in medium-high oil until golden brown on both sides.
You can make gravy from the drippings.
